Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Send me a message to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation. During this phone call we will discuss what you are seeking therapy for, scheduling, payment, and any questions you have for me.

    2. If it seems like a good fit we will schedule a first session and get you set up with a client portal account. You will need to review and sign all the required documentation before our first session.

    3. Start working together! First (and sometimes second) sessions are very different from later ones as I will get a broad overview of your concerns, history, background, and goals. If at any point either of us decides that it is not a good fit, I will offer referrals to other places you can receive the care you are seeking.

  • I offer three ways to pay for therapy: in-network insurance, out-of-network reimbursement, and private-pay sliding scale.

    In-Network Insurance
I am in-network with Medicaid, United, Aetna, and Kaiser.
Your cost depends on your specific plan, and I’m happy to walk you through how to look up your benefits.

    Out-of-Network Reimbursement
If I’m not in-network with your insurance, but you have out-of-network benefits, you can use Mentaya to submit claims. Mentaya charges a 5% processing fee, which is refunded if your claim is denied.
You pay the full session fee upfront, then I submit the claim through Mentaya, and your insurance then sends reimbursement (timeline and reimbursement rates vary by insurance plan).

    Private-Pay Sliding Scale
For those not using insurance, I offer a sliding scale:

    • Standard rate: $150 for 53 minutes

    • Reduced rates: $75, $95, or $125 for 53 minutes
These rates are based on income, financial circumstances, and individual needs.

Which option is right for you?
During your free 20-minute consult, we’ll review whether using insurance or sliding scale makes the most sense for your situation.

    A note about insurance:
All insurance companies require a diagnoses be reported for coverage. I provide the same quality of care to all clients, but insurance plans may place limits on the number or length of sessions they cover.

  • Yes, both!

For in-person, my office is located in Broomfield, just off Highway 36 and Highway 287. It is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of free parking.

For online, I am able to work with anyone who lives in Colorado. You'll need access to a private space, a computer/phone with video capability, and a solid internet connection.

  • Sessions are 50-55 minutes.

I usually recommend weekly sessions to start and then some clients switch to bi-weekly as their needs shift. Occasionally I meet with established clients on a monthly basis if that is better for therapeutic maintenance needs.

Length of treatment can range from a few months to multiple years. Ultimately, the length of time we work together is based on your desired goals, complexity of care, and continued interest in working with me. If, at any point, either of us decide that it’s not a supportive fit, I will happily provide referrals to other clinicians.

    • Allow transition time before and after sessions.

    • Come prepared with an experience you want to process, remaining open-minded to the various directions it may lead us. Some sessions might allow for more emotional depth than others and it doesn't always have to be "negative" things we are working on - sometimes celebrating the "positives" is just as important!

      • It's okay if you aren't sure what you want to work on during any given week. I can suggest ongoing themes, reminders of goals, or we can simply be curious about what it's like to not know.

    • Journaling or making notes throughout the week can help you remember ideas you want to bring in to session.

    • If something isn't working for you, please let me know! The therapeutic relationship is a dynamic process that is meant to be grounded and safe while also honoring the human-ness through which we both show up.

    • If online, find a comfortable, private place with solid internet connection to join from and try to minimize distractions.

    • Bring water, snacks, fidget toys, art supplies, pillows, or anything else you may need to feel comfortable.

  • No, I do not provide crisis support. If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis, please use the resources below:
